THIS
SITE IS DEDICATED TO MY LOVING WIFE
ANNA KARIN ELISABETH
WHO AFTER TWENTY FOUR YEARS OF MARRIAGE
IS AN INCREASINGLY INTERESTING PERSON,
A VERY EXCITING PARTNER,
AND A DEVOTED MOTHER.
The Christian Church cannot
flourish without the Christian Home.
The Christian home
is the backbone of the nation, the salt of
civilization.
A Christian home
is an institution where parents are bound
together by Christian love;
where children are welcome and Scripturally
instructed,
and the Lord Jesus is not only the supposed Head
of the home, but the actual Head;
where parents and children gather daily for
family worship.
The Christian home
is a place where members of the family enjoy
rest,
privacy, a sense of security; and learn to work,
play, pray, and plan together.
A Christian home
is one in which the members learn to regard one
another as having equal rights;
where loyalty, honesty and co-operation are
practiced and learned
by each member of the family team.
A Christian home
is one that radiates Christ; welcomes strangers;
and
dispenses hospitality without measure.
A Christian home
consists of a God-fearing Father, God-fearing
Mother,
and God-fearing children.
Unless the Lord builds the house,
they labor in vain who built it.
(Psalm 127:1)
The secret of a successful
Christian home is in the family altar where
Christ is crowned as Head of the home.
Love is the second secret.
OUR CHILDREN MAY GO WRONG
IF WE DON'T START THEM RIGHT
My son, do not forget my law.
(Proverbs 3:1)
Let not mercy and truth forsake
you.
(Proverbs 3:3)
Trust in the Lord.
(Proverbs 3:5)
Fear the Lord.
(Proverbs 3:7)
Honor the Lord with your
possessions.
(Proverbs 3:9)
Do not provoke your children to
wrath,
but bring them up in the training and admonition
of the Lord.
(Ephesians 6:4)
A RIGHT ATTITUDE TOWARD GOD
FOSTERS A RIGHT ATTITUDE TOWARD YOUR FAMILY
A PARENT'S GREATEST RESPONSIBILITY
IS
TO POINT THE WAY TO GOD.
The words which I testify among
you today...command
your children to be careful to observe.
(Deuteronomy 32:46)
CHILDREN MAY CLOSE THEIR EARS TO
ADVICE,
BUT THEIR EYES ARE ALWAYS OPEN TO EXAMPLE.
I urge you, imitate me.
(1 Corinthians 4:16)
GIVE HOPE TO A CHILD
SHARE THE LOVE OF CHRIST.
Whoever receives one of these
little children
in My name receives Me.
(Mark 9:37)
PARENTS MUST POINT THE WAY
IF CHILDREN ARE TO FIND THEIR WAY TO GOD.
Be constant in prayer.
Be consistent in example.
Be compassionate in love.
CHILDREN LET THEIR PARENTS DOWN
WHEN THEY FORGET WHO BROUGHT THEM UP.
Checklist for honoring parents:
Call.
Send a card.
Listen.
Apologize.
Visit.
Offer help.
Give a hug.
Say thanks.
Write a letter.
Pay bills.
Send flowers.
Say, I love you.
THE GREATEST GIFT A FATHER CAN
GIVE TO HIS CHILDREN IS HIMSELF.
Our children need a home where
love
Provides security,
Where what is taught is not confused
By what they hear and see.
PRAYER
Father, when You created humanity,
You chose to set us in families,
in which we find love and companionship and
nurture.
Forgive us for the times we have failed
to show love and respect to those in our
families.
Remove our petty selfishness
which would put ourselves before those we love.
Strengthen us whom You have placed together in
families,
that we may have willing hearts to serve each
other in love.
Work also in our church families, Lord, so that
we may truly
be family to each other and, working together,
may proclaim
Your love in Jesus Christ.
Amen.
